System requirements and installing AutoCast

What your Mac needs to run AutoCast, and how to install it.

Who this is for

Anyone deciding whether AutoCast will run on their machine, or installing it for the first time.

Requirements

• macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
• Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). AutoCast does not currently run on Intel Macs.
• An internet connection for translation and voice synthesis — recording and on-device transcription work fully offline.

Steps

1. Download AutoCast from autocast.studio.
2. Open the downloaded file and drag AutoCast into Applications.
3. Launch AutoCast from Applications or Spotlight.
4. Continue to First-launch permissions to grant Screen Recording and Microphone access.

What you should see

AutoCast opens to the recording screen, ready to grant permissions.
